After working in corporate America for over 35 years and retiring from IBM, Laura co-founded Discover Pathwaze and turned her focus on the underserved high school student population in Colorado and set up the Discover Pathwaze Foundation 501c3. Laura has a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration, managed several technical groups and received her Project Management certification (PMP/PMI).
Her strengths are in the areas of career development with an emphasis on creating a compelling resume and navigating the hiring and interview process, including negotiating the best salary you can. She believes career readiness starts early and has fostered strong partnerships with many other foundations, including Work Force of Colorado, Save Our Youth, and Thrive. She feels strongly that proper education/training and career preparedness are the best ways we can reduce the under-employment and unemployment facing our young adult population today. Laura is a member of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and Discover Pathwaze is a certified WBENC company. She is also an active member of the Colorado Career Development Association (CCDA).
