Janani Nathan is a passionate educator and counselor with over twenty years of experience empowering youth to realize their potential and successfully access post secondary career and college opportunities. She has experience working with diverse populations, including high achieving, first generation, low income, underrepresented and underserved populations. Janani graduated from Lafayette College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and from Columbia University Teachers College with a Master of Arts in Behavioral Disorders. She started her career in 1997 as a special educator in New York City Public schools.
In 2001, Janani moved to Cambridge, MA where she worked as a special educator and general education physics and biology teacher at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. Her passion for working with students to create life plans prompted her to pursue a Master’s Degree in School Counseling, and she has been working as a school guidance counselor for over ten years. She feels lucky to have had the opportunity to positively impact the lives of so many students on a daily basis.
