The prospect of earning college credit on your gap year can ultimately shorten your path through a bachelors degree, saving both time and money. However, earning credit isn’t an automatic good and there’s much to learn about grading and transcripts, credits transfers, financial aid, and your status as a first year student.
Inevitably, as the gap year option gains momentum, so too are we seeing more opportunities to earn college credit while on your gap year. In this session we will talk through the Gap Year Association’s credit option - available to all Accredited Gap Year Providers who operate internationally - as well as independent credit options not through the Gap Year Association. This session will not cover college timelines nor application processes specifically - those are best done through your college counselor - instead we will focus on earning credit while on your gap year, and what you can expect as a student navigating this extra benefit.
